What the site claimed

The site said it is regulated by ASIC and by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, and listed licences and registration numbers for several entities. It also described itself as the largest Forex broker in the world by trading volume.

Says it is regulated byASIC, CySEC
Licence wording“[The company] registered in the United States with registration number: 9291655-2, is…”; “International Capital Markets Pty Ltd with registration number 182 273 293, is regulated…”

CySEC is the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission.

What the regulator published

Australian Securities and Investments Commission (AU) listed universalstocktrading.com as a website impersonating a genuine firm. IOSCO's investor alerts portal listed the warning on 23 October 2026. Website given by the regulator: https://universalstocktrading.com/. This website appears to impersonate International Capital Markets Pty Ltd, a genuine firm that has nothing to do with this website.

A clone firm copies the name, address or reference number of a genuine firm that is, or was, authorised, so that it looks legitimate. The genuine firm has nothing to do with it.

If you sent money to this firm

  1. Call your bank or card provider today and tell them it was a scam. The sooner they know, the more they can do.
  2. Do not send any more money, including "fees" or "taxes" to release a withdrawal.
  3. Report it to the police where you live and to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), which issued the warning. In the UK the police route is Action Fraud (Police Scotland on 101 in Scotland), in Australia ReportCyber, and in Canada the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
  4. Keep everything: payment receipts, chats, emails and screenshots.
  5. Be careful with "recovery" offers. Never pay anyone upfront to get your money back.

This page reports what a financial regulator published and what we observed. A warning means the regulator says the firm is not authorised; it is not a finding of guilt. Figures are from our own monitoring and public domain records on the dates shown.
